New Chair!

2005-03-10 | by Jamie | Categories: Deep Thoughts

On the left, my faithful metal companion for 18 months "Chairry". On the right, "New Chairry". Sadly neither Chairries can talk like Pee-Wee's Chairy, but I'm pretty psyched about getting a comfy modern new chair since I spend about 95% of the day in one. I wonder what suddenly inspired my school to ditch the soviet style ones that are fixtures in almost all Japanese govermental office places. Maybe they finally found a use for all the ALT support money the federal goverment gives the school as long as I'm around. What ever the reason, I'm happy 'cause I got a new chair!

I hate those metal rickety things. I'm lucky that I've had a nice comfy plastic one since I got here.

One thing you can say for those old metal rickety ones is that they're tough! They must be like 20 or 30 years old and they still look brand new.. though ugly.

OMG! My teachers at my elementary school (shougakkou) and junior high (chuugakkou) had the exact same chair as your old one!!

Like many school-related things in Japan, I guess the chairs are exactly the same everywhere. Thanks for posting, Jamie.
