Just found this link in my referal logs: http://bigdaikon.org/board/viewtopic.php?t=49269&highlight=aomori

It's a thread on BigDaikon for new JETs headed to Aomori this summer. Time to start sizing up the newbies! I wonder who the mysterious "bluesora" is.

Howdy there. I'm one of the new JETs that will be heading to Aomori, coming from Toronto. Please let me be in your videos and make me famous. Also, can you please pimp my ride? Thanks.

Well mysterious new JET, I'd be happy to pimp your ride! Just be mindful of the fact that I'm not a professional at this sort of thing, and everything I add to your car will likely come from Daiso (The 100 yen store). Are you the Toronto JET replacing Francois in Shichinohe? I hope you can speak English with a Qubecquois accent or your students won't understand you.

Hello again... (I'm the same guy that made the first comment)

Yes, I've been placed in shichinohe-machi but I have no idea who I'm replacing. Can anyone give me some useful infomation about this place? I couldn't find much on the internet, though I did browse through Mr. Francois' page.

No, Marti is staying. Same as Joe in Temma (part of Shichinohe now). Y

There's not much to say about Shichinohe... its pretty much the same as any small town in Aomori! What do you want to know?

Jamie, A lot of people are leaving this year. This new group to Aomori should be pretty large.

Shichinohe, crap dude, that place doesn't have any running running, the only electricity comes from gas generators, and it is overrun with monkeys. Crazy monkeys. So you'll have to carry a stick when you hike to school. Of course I could be thinking of Kazamaura. Either way, you'll need a stick.

Yes, Shichinohe and Kazamaura are very similar in respect to the points brought up by Jacob. I'd like to draw attention to the fact, though, that Shichinohe is home to the sub-Hakkoda great planes monkeys, whereas in Kazamaura we have the mountain monkeys that come down to the villages to raid kitchens while the villagers are harvesting seaweed down by the shore.

Hey Luke, since I have never been in Kazamaura, I couldnt compare our two towns... Wow, its so similar!!!

Btw, I did see a monkey this winter in Shichinohe... Did you forget your pet on your way to Hakkoda??

Don`t know what all the newbies are worrying about! At least they don`t have to explain to people that they are a sad bitch and are staying on for a 4th year....maybe I`ll just pretend to be fresh off the boat so I don`t get too many looks of pity!

Ps. I thought Blue Sora was Francois too!

Francois,

I was reading through some of your older posts (April 2004) and you mentioned that Shichinohe has a gym... Is this a regular gym or a boxing gym? Just curious because I used to box in highschool and I wouldn't mind starting up again.

And thanks for all the info people.
