Okay, normally I don't like to post journal style entries about all the places I've been and things I've done. No offence to my many friends with Live Journals, but to me writing stuff like "I went here, saw this thing, then went there" is pretty boring. That's not to say that I don't like reading these kinds of journals from time to time. Because of journal writing I can vicariously live through my friends in Hirosaki, and imagine I'm there with them when they do all the exciting things that they do. I seriously doubt anyone wants to vicariously live in Noheji through me. Just to demonstrate, here's a break down of what life is like for me in Noheji these days:
Saturday:
Woke up. Played Command and Conquer on my computer. Did the laundry. Surfed the web. Checked my email. No new mail. Played Counter Strike. Thought about cleaning the car. Realized cleaning the car would mean having to get dressed and go out. Played Command and Conquer again. Made pizza. Watched the Olympics. Played Command and Conquer yet again. Checked my mail again. Still no new mail. Looked on Suprnova.org for something to download. Found nothing I wanted. Went to bed.
Sunday:
Same as Saturday except my excuse for not cleaning the car was that it was raining. Downloaded Alien vs. Predator, but decided to hold off on watching it. Watched Mighty Joe Young on the T.V.. Played more video games and went to bed.
Monday:
Got up at 7:45 and arrived at work at 8:05. I'm surprised to see other teachers at school. Last week I was just hanging out alone in the staff room with the Kyoto sensei. Surfed the web some more. (Luckily the planned cutting off of the Internet never happened... at least not yet). Played Doom 3 and Multi Theft Auto. At lunch I could smell chicken and started getting hungry. Then the head clerk Nakamura-san asked me to join him for pizza and chicken! He has some sort of connection at the Misawa Air Force base and brought a big pizza and some Popeye's chicken for everyone. He then showed me a bunch of pictures of his new "Canadian Home" which looked like a giant and really nice log cabin. Walked around for a bit. Played Doom 3 again. At 3 the Kyoto sensei told me I could go home. Went home. Cleaned the car. Watched Alien vs. Predator (it wasn't as terrible as I expected... but then my expectations were pretty low). Had more pizza and a grape fruit! Played on the computer some more. Talked to my mom on the phone. Went to bed.
Today:
Woke up and went to work. Far less teachers here today for some reason. Updated my website to include links to Angie and Kate's live journals. Realized I spelled Angies's name wrong. Thought about fixing it, but can't be bothered for now. Surfed the web. Walked around. Watched 'Days of Thunder' in the A/V room. Wrote this.
Now, was that boring or what? I still have two more hours to kill before I can go home. Maybe I'll go play Doom 3 some more. Ah the life of an ALT. It can be pretty tough sometimes.
