Even more photos

Noheji's police force have moved into their new digs next to my house.

While most people are enjoying a restful and relaxing vacation, I've been stuck at work with nothing to do. Luckily for you my loyal readers, that means that I've had plenty of time to mess around with this website. So here is my third photo gallery in a row, this time of random shots taken over the past 3 weeks.

...

Noheji at night. Visible are two of Noheji's largest buildings, the NTT tower and the brightly lit police station.

Lanterns light up "Downtown" Noheji.

The "Lucky" casino seems a little down on its luck these days. Not only is its Y not working, but in all the years I've lived in Noheji I've never seen anyone set foot inside the place. The only thing that was drawn in by its fluorescent glow was a bird that kept flying in circles around its sign like a moth.

Can you spot one of my noisey neighbours in this photo? These guys are really out in full force this summer.

When calling for emergency help in Noheji, make sure you don't accidentally call the coast guard... unless of course you need the coast guard's help for some reason.

Cute eh?

Now on to some photos from Hakkouda High School...

Near the school is a park with a helicopter on display and this neat roller slide. I would have tried it, but there were a bunch of kids on it already.

Konishiki looks like he could eat all of those kids and still have room for more.

The dangers of drinking with your shirt off.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome has never looked more comical.

Drinking helps you gross out girls!

Those photos come from a book on drinking I found at this library. A familiar looking book sits on the librarian's desk with another new release.

The school had lots of cool anatomy books, including this one featuring tiny construction workers climbing all over the parts of the body.

I also read this book in the hopes of trying to figure out what animals the following skeletons I found on the beach once belonged to.

I really have no idea with this one. It kind of looks like Luke's dead dolphin, but it seemed too small. Too bad the head was missing.

Some kind of bird.

Whatever this thing was, it's been out in the sun so long that it has been bleached completely white. Maybe a dog or a tanuki? Again the skeleton book fails me. Japanese beaches are mostly unkept and are really treasure troves of cool stuff.

Finally, here's a photo of the new trophy display case Noheji High just installed in hopes of improving its reputation as a good sports school. I don't think it's going to impress anyone in its current empty state though.
