This weekend I got to see a pack of wild monkeys! It was so awesome. North of where I live in Aomori is an area called Shimokita which is home to the world's northernmost monkeys. A bunch of other JETs (Steffanie, Ross and Eric) were passing through Noheji doing this weird scavanger hunt on Saturday. Steffanie asked me to join them so I did. The journey was quite an adventure, complete with hit and run car accidents and long, narrow, steep and scary mountain roads. On one of those roads we nearly squashed a family of snow monkeys that were crossing the street. I managed to grab a snap shot of one of them, but since I don't have a fancy digital camera yet it will be a while until you get to see the photos. After the hunt I went to this drunked cabin party where many unspeakable things happened. This other JET from Britain named Kathryn has a potentially embarassing photo of me that hopefully will never see the light of day.


The other big news is that I just watched what has to be the greatest movie of all time.. The Rundown starring The Rock. That movie was awesome! I downloaded a VCD bootleg last night to add to my growing VCD/Divx bootleg movie collection. Words can't describe the genius of this film. The Rock battles Stifler from American Pie.. a pack of horny monkeys, Surf Ninjas star Ernie Rayez jr. and the evil Christopher Walken in the jungles of Brazil. Walken has tons of great one liners and another classic weird monologue.. this time about the tooth fairy.
