Hi everyone. I really don't know what to talk about today. I don't know how Jenny is able to update her journal multiple times every day. I just can't think of anything interesting enough to talk about. Maybe life is just more exciting in Hirosaki. My weeks generally consist of waking up at 7:30, driving to work (in my new 1991 Subaru Legacy), then sitting and staring at my desk for 7 hours until quiting time. Everyone once in a while my day is broken up with a thrilling conversation with the students that always goes exactly like this..
Student "Hello"
Me "Hello, how are you?"
Student "Fine thank you, and you?"
Me "Fine, thanks."
Student "Bye bye!"
Me "Bye."
Some times the days are also broken up with school assemblies where the students stand in single file the whole time as important looking people bark orders at them and inspect their uniforms. I shocked one of the students today when she saw me eating french fries with vinegar. Speaking of food I just bought a waffle iron! It's kind of a sandwich maker/waffle iron. You can't really buy waffle irons over here, so I was really lucky to find it. I also bought a new mega toaster so I could cook pizzas easier at home. I am now certain that I will be able to make it through the year without one piece of Japanese food ever touching my lips. Tomorrow is a big JET conference in Aomori City, so I won't have to worry about how to kill time for a change. I'll probably wind up spending the weekend at Hugh's in Hirosaki like I always do. Maybe I'll have something interesting to talk about on Monday.
**Check out the new Jamie Webcam!** Actually, the picture quality is really crappy. It only refreshes every 30 seconds or so, and I probably won't even have it on most of the time... but there its there anyway.
