R.I.P. Suprnova.org

12/19/04 | by Jamie | Categories: Deep Thoughts

The greatest website ever for pirated warez, movies, T.V. shows, music, and more Suprnova.org has bit the dust. I'm not sure what happened, but their site posted a message saying that they are closed permanently. I guess either the RIAA/MPAA Nazis finally figured out a way to shut them down, or they were the victim of their own success. I'm not too worried since I'm sure someone else will come along and pick up where they left off. In the mean time, where am I gonna get my T.V. shows and movies???? Grrrrr. I better find a good alternative soon because X-mas vacation is almost here and I'm gonna be alone in Noheji for most of it. Suggestions are welcome. The folks at Suprnova were working on some kind of decentralized system for spreading torrent files called eXeeme. I wonder what will become of it now.

HughI'm sure if anyone would know of good alternatives, it'd be you! Let us know when you find it! Kazaa lite's still around ain't it? Not as good as supernova but at least it's something.

jamieKazaa lite is still around, but lately whenever I try it all I get are fake files. There are tons of bit torrent sites out there (torrent spy, toreentreactor.to, lokitorrent, etc.), but none of them seem to be updated as often or have as many files as Suprnova did. I hear IRC is a good alternative for finding torrents, but haven't tried that yet. Nate always claimed to have a better alternative to Suprnova but never told me what it was. If anyone knows the best answer it's Nate.

Luke ElliotYes, do Jamie. My junior high school is going to get fiber optic cables in the next few months, so I'll finally be able to download files in less than a week!

jamieSorry Luke you're too late. The days of downloading files is over! Actually, it will probably be fine. Bit torrent traffic already makes up something like 50% of all bandwidth used on the Internet. I doubt that it will suddenly just go away. Imagine how much money the telephone companies would lose if people all stopped trading files at once.

BradTVtorrents is dead too? ARGH! Where will I get all of my TV shows now? I don`t give a crap out the movies, or the pirated games... It`s the TV shows that I want!

Oh well... In about a week or two, someone else will pick it up. I hope.

EwenThe Pirate's Bay has a massive selection of torrents to choose from. It even has a load of t.v shows. The only problem is that its based in Sweden, so although the site is in English, you can sometimes end up with films/t.v programmes dubbed into swedish. But I've had loads of undubbed stuff off it already. Fine source of porn too.

LuffNot big chance of it being dubbed, only series for kids under 12 are dubbed in sweden. Subbed on the other hand is more likely. Bittorrent is not illegal in sweden and you can't sue people as easily here so there is little chance of it going down.

JamieLast I checked that's a rip-off site. They hijacked the domain and filled the site with spyware. Do you work for it or something? Anyway, torrentspy is probably the best one at the moment.
