Noheji High School English Department. Top: Yamaguchi Sensei, Kaizuka Sensei - Bottom: Kondo Sensei, Kikuchi Sensei, Jamie Sensei.

Today was my awesome supervisor Mariko Kikuchi's last day at Noheji High. She's heading off to one of the best academic schools in Aomori where I'm sure she'll be very happy. She'll definately be missed by her students, and most of all by me. I can't even begin to talk about all the nice things she's done for me, or all the times she's gone above and beyond the call of duty. We've become good friends which I hear is a rare thing to happen between ALT's and their supervisors. I'm sure I'll still see her from time to time, but it won't be the same at work anymore. Terresa, if you're out there, you've got a great new JTE that I'm sure you'll have lots of great times with. By the way, I hope you like Britney Spears! My new supervisor seems like she might be a little timid from what I hear. Hopefully I'll be able to win her over with lots of sweets and my charming personality, but I'm not really counting on it.

Today was also the last day for Kondo Sensei, a terrific first grade English teacher who also is being transfered to Aomori. We always had lots of fun in the few classes we had together. 'Shogen' as he prefered to be called has a real talent for motivating students and making people laugh. He was pretty bummed about getting transfered so I bought him a bottle of wine as a small going away gift. I have no idea if he even likes wine, but I wasn't sure what to do for the guy. I hope he likes his new school.

JennyI'm glad Mariko is moving up in the JTE world but it really sucks that you're losing her. Seriously, best JTE in Aomori-ken hands down.

JamieI wish you were my supervisor Akiko!!!
Work would be so much more fun if I could just watch you get drunk and fight the other teachers all day. So far my new supervisor has been really nice. She's a little quiet, but that's okay I guess.
