As you probably know, in Japan status is extremely important. The way you speak and act to someone of a higher or lower status than you is very different than how you may behave around peers. This often leads to akward and and embarassing situations when two people meet who don't know where they stand with each other. Well here is a handy chart to help you avoid these kind of problems.
