You know, I would have loved to have seen a wrestling match, but never seemed to find out about them when I actually had a chance to go to one. *Chuckle* It does seem like the Michinoku wrestlers would be the ones to go see, as I prefer more jokey to the real serious stuff. Hence why I followed pro-wrestling back in the States for as long as I did.

Wow really? You're so lucky! Actually to be honest, I don't know much about New Japan other than the fact that they are one of the larger promotions, and they seem to be thought of as a more "serious" wrestling league, as opposed to Michinoku which avid wrestling fans seem to think is a little "jokey". Since the real joke is on anyone who takes wrestling too seriously, I think going to a goofy lucha libre show like Michinoku is much more fun than something like New Japan. Still, if any big pro-wrestling show came to my podunk town I wouldn't miss it for the world. Try to see if your office can get you cheap/free seats, and if they can then get one for me too! It's been my experience that wrestling promoters like having gaijin near the front row. I've had my seat upgraded free of charge on numerous occasions. I hope B.S. Machine is there! http://www.njpw.co.jp/prof/profile.html

Hey, do you know anything about the Ne w Japan (shin nihon) pro wrestling group? They're going to be about 2 blocks from my house on July 11th, and I'm wondering if it's worth the walk.

Back when I was in Japanese elementar school Tiger-Mask was every boy's hero, Kin-niku-man was our favorite anime character, and we always played a version of Rock Paper Scissors where the winner would get to perform a wrestling move on the loser. My diatribe against Gin (my arch enemy and captain of the basketball team) in my fifth grade diary is evidence of the prominance of "puro-resu" in our lives: [quote] "Another reason why I don't think he will be any good for captain is that when he punishes you he dosn't make you do a hundred push ups like he is supposed to. He shoes of by useing restling tricks. If he ever tries to do that to me, I will punch him in the face." [Original spelling mistakes retained]

Hmmm. To be honest I wasn't going to submit anything to the yearbook this time but flattery goes really far with me, so now I just might! Perhaps what the yearbook needs is a review of the latest Michinoku wrestling match in Aomori.

Hi Jamie,

We were just wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a comic strip for the yearbook? Your blog is such an institution, it would be a crime if there wasn't something in the yearbook of yours! Let us know at aomoriyearbook@gmail.com
Thanks and enjoy the weekend
